Jimmy Carter

Jimmy Carter is an American politician, philanthropist, and former president. He served as the 39th President of the United States from January 20, 1977, to January 20, 1981. A member of the Democratic Party, Carter was previously the Governor of Georgia and a state senator. His presidency is noted for significant events such as the Camp David Accords, which facilitated a peace agreement between Israel and Egypt, and the Iran Hostage Crisis. After leaving office, he became widely respected for his humanitarian work, including efforts in global health, democracy promotion, and conflict resolution through the Carter Center, an organization he founded.
